CHRISSY CAIRNS -
vinyasa flow: PROFILE
As a yoga teacher and student, my challenge
involves making these ancient teachings relevant to our modern,
every day lives…how can we take what we learn on the
mat…compassion, kindness, patience and truth and extend it out
into the world around us? |
I have been a dedicated yoga practitioner since 1999 and am deeply
honoured to have had some truly inspiring teachers along the way,
such as Cyndi Lee (Om Yoga, NYC), Simon Low (Yoga Academy, U.K) and
Sharon Gannon & David Life (Jivamukti Yoga, NYC).
I completed my Teacher Training in 2004 in Sydney, Australia (Yoga
Alliance & YTAA recognised) and went on to specialise in pregnancy
yoga. Yoga is a practice in the true sense of the word, in that your
knowledge is never fulfilled. I am constantly seeking to deepen my
understanding of the teachings through regular workshops, trainings
and through the study of yogic philosophy.
 |
I have been very fortunate to work a great deal with students on a
one-to-one basis, teaching anything from dynamic vinyasa, pregnancy
yoga and meditation to yin yoga or restorative work for students
with specific injuries.
My style of teaching is fluid and graceful with emphasis on the
breath. The flow of vinyasa- the harmony of movement with breath,
allows students to look deep within them and begin to locate that
place which is calm and steady in this ever changing world.

“Paying attention to our breathing is the most immediate way to remind us of our connection to nature, including human nature.” - Cyndi Lee (Yoga Body, Buddha Mind)
