PHOENIX RISING YOGA THERAPY
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a client centred
therapy that combines classical yoga with elements of contemporary
mind-body psychotherapy.
The unique discipline helps us to enhance
our awareness of the complex relationship between mind and body
as well as to release physical and emotional tension, body stored
memories and blockages.
A typical PRYT session is a one-on-one process that lasts for
an hour and a half where the body and the yoga postures, or asanas,
are used as vehicles for the exploratory process. Clients are being
held and supported in specifically selected yoga postures whilst
being brought to the edge of physical sensation.
Using guided breathing
and non-directive verbal dialogue, based on the work of Carl
Rogers, these sensations are explored physically, mentally and
emotionally.
Through this process clients may experience cellular and psychological
changes that can initiate transformation within their lives.
